Our industry has faced so many challenges over the past few months and here at APPI HQ we have seen a large increase in the demand for guidance, advice and general information about this amazing industry we all work in. Hence the name – Pilates 101. This is all about you guys, your questions, your ideas and your wants and needs – so please send in feedback, questions and let us know who you really want to hear from and we will do our best to deliver this to you. We hope you enjoy the first two episodes below and as we progress and improve we will move the podcast across to the usual apple and android services you are all used to. The general format will be based on updates from around the globe, interviews with industry leaders, equipment reviews, movement analysis and opinions on different Pilates movements, questions and answers from you and additional movement based content around making us the best teachers we can be. We also have a special treat for you with our extract of the Opening Address from our 2016 APPI Pilates conference which consisted of a Graham Norton style panellist interview with who we think are the 3 leaders in the Pilates Industry, Alan Herdman the Grandfather of Pilates who brought Pilates to the UK, Michael King who is a true legend and was the first Pilates instructor and teacher for our Founders Glenn and Elisa Withers and Suzanne Scott the Queen of Pilates who is influential within the Elite Sport world with special interest in Rotational Control.
In this interview we ask the 3 leaders about their background, their first experiences with Pilates and we ask them various questions from our delegates regarding the development of Pilates from Joe through the elders and how it ended up here the UK.
